Originally from Dijon, France, Dominique de Anfrasio. A second generation hair stylist, he attended La Coiffure International de Dijon in France
Dominique de Anfrasio came to the United States as a young child with his parents from his native Dijon, France. He lived in Astoria and Forest Hills before returning to France, where he attended the Coiffure International de Dijon and then apprenticed at several hair styling salons before returning to the U.S.
In this country, he worked for several hair salons before joining the staff of Gio Hair Stylists at the Hotel Pierre. Dominique quickly established himself as one of the rising stars of the salon and his client list included Lee Iacocca, George Steinbrenner and Nathaniel de Rothschild. Shortly after owner Gio Hernandez’ death, Mr. de Anfrasio established his own hair salon at The Pierre Hotel in 1991.
He continued the long tradition of elegance and service often found at the Pierre’s salon by totally renovating DOMINIQUE SALON into an Art Deco designed salon with an exclusive atmosphere that appeals to Manhattan’s major executives and celebrities.
Today his client list reads like a “who’s who” of New York City’s powerful, rich and famous including Roone Arledge, Roger Ailes, Mel Karmazin, Tom Sullivan, Wolf Blitzer, Frank Gifford, Jeff Greenfield, Richrad Reeves, Mike Greenly, Bill Ritter, Dodi al Fayed & Diana de Gales, First Lady Barbara Bush, Kelly Preston, Tovah Feldshuh, Lois Chiles, Veronica Ferres Shakira, Frank Sinatra, Francesco Scavullo, Sir James Goldsmith, Hon.
